Betty Alexander Rizzo (born September 13, 1941) known mononymously by her surname Rizzo is one of the main characters in the movie Grease. She is the tough and sarcastic leader of the Pink Ladies. She smokes, drinks, and does not care what others think of her. Rizzo is also a girl with a "reputation". She is the girlfriend of Kenickie.
In the 1978 movie, she is played by Stockard Channing, in the 2016 live performance by Vanessa Hudgens, in the 2017 UK tour by Louisa Lytton and in the 2017 play version, by Leanna Branz.
In the 1994 Broadway revival, she is played by Rosie O'Donnen
Appearance
Rizzo is slim and of average height and looks like an 11 year old boy. She has hazel eyes, curly and short brunette hair, and a fashionable rockabilly sense of style. She is not as bright and cheerful with her outfits as the other Pink Ladies, and often wears revealing ,sexy and tight apparel, showing off her figure and large chest which the T-Birds make fun in the on stage musical.
Personality
Rizzo is saucy, as seen by inviting Sandy Olsson to the school bonfire party, reuniting Sandy and Danny Zuko, causing him to switch from the guy Sandy loved to a macho jerk in front of his T-Bird friends, who saw his happiness at seeing her again as someone who liked "old-fashioned" girls. She was also seen kicking Patty Simcox and Sandy In Summer Nights. Rizzo is a somewhat jealous young woman; this is evident when she dances with Leo Balmudo while Kenickie danced with Charlene Digregorio. Upon learning that she might be pregnant, she emotionally cut all ties with Kenickie. However, immediately after, her smug expression saddened, as she realized that she'd pushed away the guy who actually loved her. Later, she revealed a softer side of herself. Sandy offered to help, but initially Rizzo balked at the offer. Seeing how mean she'd been to Sandy, who was purer than she herself was, she relented and thanked Sandy, both smiling gratefully. At the end of the school year, a carnival is held; Rizzo is seen on a Ferris wheel, revealing to Kenickie that she isn't pregnant. Thrilled with the news, they make up, kissing passionately, and Kenickie proposed, "If that's a line, ain't bitin'. / That's a bona fide offer."
